New business grant available in April

News from Bradford Council:

A new grant to support businesses through the final stages of lockdown restrictions will become available from 1 April this year.

Eligible businesses will receive a one-off Restart Grant to help them to re-open safely.

To qualify your business must:

  • Be registered for business rates with Bradford Council and trading on 1 April 2021
  • Have been forced to close during the January lockdown
  • Rely on offering a mainly ‘in-person’ service at the property where business rates are paid

Sectors covered by the Restart Grant include:

  • Non-essential retail
  • Hospitality
  • Leisure
  • Accommodation
  • Gym and sports
  • Personal care

Read descriptions of each sector and the types of businesses that are eligible.

If you are eligible, you will receive a one off grant dependant on the type of business and the rateable value of your premises as follows:

Rateable Value                Non – essential retail      Other sectors

RV up to £15,000              £2,667                              £8,000

RV £15,001 – £50,999       £4,000                              £12,000

RV £51,000 and over        £6,000                              £18,000

The government has stipulated Restart Grants cannot be paid before April.
